PermaPhemera

A navigable memory of exhibitions

A bilingual archive that gives fleeting exhibitions a lasting place: galleries, exhibitions, artists and rooms, connected and searchable.

PermaPhemera home page: exhibition views arranged as a fan, next to the line Ephemeral worlds. Permanently preserved.

The question

What remains of an exhibition once it is taken down — its placement, scale, sightlines and atmosphere gone with it?

The way

PermaPhemera connects records of venues, exhibitions and artists with dates, invitations and, where available, spatial documentation. A gallery atlas gathers small Austrian galleries from every federal state; the first dossier follows the 2026 programme of the Parkschlössl.

Why it lasts

The room is treated as part of the work. The archive can be extended editorially, speaks two languages, and is prepared for 360° walkthroughs as soon as spatial records are connected.

What you can do with it

  • Find galleries in the atlas, filter by province and follow their programme.
  • Read up on exhibitions with venue, dates, opening hours and invitation – after they have come down, too.
  • Move on from an exhibition to artists, rooms and related records.
  • Switch between German and English without leaving the record.
  • Enter rooms as a 360° walk-through once captures are connected.
