Chords, scales and notation
Choose a root and a chord symbol. Chord Compass shows the chord and related scales as notation, plays them, and keeps what was found.

Can harmony become something explored with the hands — rather than a table to look up?
The idea
Notation is rendered live with VexFlow or Verovio. A piano, pointer input and Web MIDI feed one consistent player. Quick banks hold pitch-class sets and instruments. A local recorder keeps sessions as tracks that can be replayed in full.
Why it holds
Abstract theory turns into visible and audible movement. The app becomes a thinking tool for learning, writing and experimenting — in English and German, also offline.
What you can do with it
- Pick a root and a chord symbol and see and hear the chord in notation at once.
- Show related chords and matching scales for every sound.
- Play through the keyboard, the pointer or a MIDI keyboard.
- Fill quick banks with pitch sets and instruments and recall them with a key.
- Record sessions, keep them as tracks and play them back in full.
- Work offline, in German or English.
